Upon appointment or hire and on an annual basis thereafter, the Town Clerk is required by statute to provide all town employees and volunteers with a summary of the Conflict of Interest Law and to obtain a signed receipt from the employee/volunteer.  Additionally, all employees and volunteers must complete an online ethics training and multiple choice exercise within 30 days of beginning public service and every 2 years thereafter. Both the summary of the Conflict of Interest Law and the exercise are available online (see below). This information and training are to ensure understanding of the Massahcusetts ethics code.

Obtain the ethics summary online at http://www.mass.gov/ethics. Go to the web site and click on "Mandatory Conflict Law Education Requirements" under the heading Education and Training Resources, and then scroll down to click on the "Summary of the Conflict of Interest Law for Municipal Employees". Find the "Acknowledgement of Receipt" certificate at the bottom of this document. Please sign and return it to the Town Clerk’s Office.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            The link to the ethics training is: http://www.muniprog.eth.state.ma.us. It can also be accessed through the mass.gov website by clicking on the training image module located in the center of the homepage. If you do not have access to the internet obtain paper copies of the required documents from the Town Clerk's office and arrange a time to complete the training module at the Town Office Building.
