There are 610 registered voters; 158 Democrats, 46 Republicans, 3 Libertarians, 8 Green Party USA, 2 International 3rd Party, 1 Natural Law Party, and 392 Unenrolled.

The town has an open town meeting type of government, moderated by Kathy Ann Becker. Wendell has a three member selectboard: Jeoffrey Pooser, Christine Heard, and Daniel Keller. Our Town Coordinator is Nancy Aldrich.
