All dogs 6 months and older must be licensed and tagged every year. Proof of rabies vaccination and appropriate fee is required. If you are renewing a license and know we have your rabies information on file, you do not need to bring in your rabies certificate unles you have a new due date to report.   Fees are $4 for neutered or spayed and $8 for unaltered dogs. Dog owners with 5 or more dogs will be issued a kennel license. $25 for 5-10 dogs (by law); $10 for <5dogs (owner option).

The official deadline for dog licensing is April 1st, every year. This year in Wendell we extended the deadline to May 5th, Town Election Day. After May 5th, as posted here and around town, a late fee of $20 per dog owner is imposed on anyone who has not yet licensed their dog. If this is you, please see the Town Clerk ASAP to avoid a formal citation from the Dog Officer and additional fees. Liceneses may be obtained on Wedesday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm, and on Saturday mornings from 9:30am to Noon. Call to arrange another time as needed: (978) 544-3395 x102.

Location : Town Clerk Office
Contact : Joy Gorzocoski or Gretchen Smith (978) 544-3395 x102
Unlicensed dogs will be reported to the Dog Officer and Wendell Police Chief after June 1, 2014.
