The Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) are the principal governmental bodies involved in development and enforcement of the Wendell Zoning Bylaw.

 

The Planning Board acts in several roles, including development of the zoning bylaw and subdivision regulations in accordance with the Zoning Act, review of subdivision plans, review of Approval Not Required (ANR) applications, review of site plans, and hearing and deciding certain special permit applications.

 

The role of the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is to hear and decide appeals in accordance with the Zoning Act, to hear and decide certain special permit applications, and to hear and decide petitions for variances.

 

In addition, the Building Inspector serves as the Zoning Enforcement Officer (ZEO) for the Town.
