Old Home Day 2011

Wendell Old Home Day Is On Saturday, August 20th , 2011

This is a special day. A celebration of the wonderful, unique and creative community that we are! We encourage input and participation. We need input and participation! Any ideas are welcome. For those new to town, the day kicks of with the kids parade -- Jean Forward has offered to help -- and I know others will too. We will again have the International Circle Dance with the help and leadership of Kevin Skrupa and family and our own little whirling dervish "Mr. Hines" ( Edward to some ). Music goes on all afternoon thanks to the generous and gifted musicians -- including "Rhythm Inc" and "Earth Vibes" for the reggae feeling, local blues heroes The Bear Mt. Boys for their CD release party, and many more to come. The day includes big time crafts and tag sales, a farmer's market, kids games- thanks to Amy Simmons; lots of great food booths. This year Diemand Farm is going to do some special foods- a drum circle, and whatever else any one wants to add to the list! please contact Karen Copeland with any ideas. Looking for someone to organize the Town Hall into an "Art Gallery" or some such thing. Did it a few years and it was great. Joe Coll will be doing a Civil War Re-enactment. "The Famous Wendell Mushroom Museum" will also be there. Petting zoo? Put on your thinking caps and help make this another wonderful Wendell Old Home Day! As you can see, I am asking for help from the town -- this is NOT on a "town warrant", etc. It's a labor of love. love of Wendell - so let's do it! Any and all help much appreciated.
