Guidance For Craft Vendors With In-Person Home Shoppers

  • Scheduling shoppers by appointment is best; it prevents crowding and allows for contact tracing if necessary; keep a copy of your schedules.

  • A garage with the doors open would the safest location. The goal is to separate shoppers and residents of the home as much as possible.

  • Wear face coverings and disposable gloves at all times; change gloves as needed.

  • Provide hand sanitizer that is 60% or more alcohol.

  • Disinfect sale items and display tables; repeat as needed during the sale.

  • Tables should be spaced at least 6 feet apart.

  • Establish a one-way traffic pattern and mark it with heavy duty tape or signs.

  • No more than 5 people at a time, including the seller, may be in the sale area at once; allow room for 6 ‘ spacing; reduce number of shoppers otherwise.

  • Provide newspaper or other wrapping material for shoppers to use for their purchases.

  • Price items in round numbers to avoid the need to make change as much as possible.

  • Accept local checks.

  • Do not serve food or beverages during the sale.


  • If you or anyone in your family are not feeling well, do not go shopping.

  • Wear face coverings at all times.

  • Use hand sanitizer right before and after shopping.

  • Maintain at least a 6 foot distance between shoppers.

  • Look first, then touch only the items you intend to purchase.

  • If paying in cash, bring a range of small bills to avoid having to make change.

  • Bring your own shopping bags from home; you should wrap and bag your own purchases rather than having the seller do it.
