Highway Department

The Wendell Highway department is responsible for maintenance of approximately 46 miles of roads of which about 23 miles are paved and 23 miles are gravel.  If there is an issue with the roads, please call the Highway Department at 978-544-3735. The Road Commissioners may also be contacted if you have issues, or questions about the roads or the Wrats.

We have a work force of 3 employees.

Work Week:

Winter hours: Beginning of December or from first major snow storm whichever comes first until the end of April. Monday – Friday 6:00 am until 2:30 pm or longer.

Summer hours: May – End of November: Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm

Driveway permits available from either Allen W. Frost or the Building Inspector
