Facility Manager


The Wendell Selectboard is seeking a part-time Facility Manager for the Town. the pay is $1440 per year, for approximately 6 hours per month. If you are interested, please contact the Town Coordinator by phone at 978-544-3395 x 100 or by email at coordinator@wendellmass.us.

The Facility Manager is supervised by and reports to the Selectboard. The Facility Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Evaluates town buildings for needed repairs.
  • Following procurement protocol, secures estimates for repairs
  • Advises Selectboard and Finance Committee of costs associated with needed repairs to secure authorization to proceed.
  • In coordination with department involved, arrange for vendor to make necessary repairs and oversee the work, reporting any difficulty that may arise to the Selectboard and affected department.
  • Coordinate with department to make sure that all vendor bills are submitted and paid in a timely manner.
  • Will provide Capital Improvement Planning Committee and Finance Committee a list of projects that need to be considered for budget purposes for the next fiscal year by the end of December.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of building construction and maintenance, materials and procedures
  • Knowledge of procurement laws
  • Grant writing and administration would be helpful
