The Municipal Technology Committee (MTC) is charged with creating a technology plan for the municipal offices, seeing that plan come into fruition, and providing long range support and oversight. The vision is that Wendell will discover ways to provide high level technology support to employees and stand out among small towns for the excellence of its technology systems.
The MTC will begin by doing a thorough survey of town needs. This survey will involve meeting with all of the various town employees, departments, boards, and committees to ascertain current use, unmet needs, and potential use. This survey will be conducted in cooperation with the Technology Supervisor (TS). The participants in the survey will be kept abreast of plans and encouraged to participate in their development.
From this survey the MTC and TS will create a plan. The scope of this plan will be to answer needs immediately or very soon where possible, design acquisitions to meet other current needs to be presented at next ATM, and envision an end game system that may require capital expenditures and other changes over time.
The MTC and TS will cost out the proposed acquisition plan for presentation to the Selectboard and Finance Committee in anticipation of presentation at next ATM.
The MTC will continue to be involved in technology issues providing support where needed, over sight where needed, and continuous visioning of where we are headed. Should there be a vacancy in the position of TS the MTC will fill in where it can to keep systems moving smoothly and employees supported in their technology needs.
