Job Posting for Shared Clerk Position

The Town of Wendell has an opening for a Shared Clerk
Position
. The position will support the Board of Assessors,
Planning Board and Open Space Committee. All departments require someone
to take minutes at meetings. Other support may be requested. Currently,
the Board of Assessors meet on the 2nd and 4th
Wednesday of each month from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. There may be some other
duties that require 1 – 2 hours per month. The Planning Board meets once
a month for 2 – 3 hours. The Open Space Committee meets monthly for 2 -3
hours. Some meetings are remote and some in person. The position pays an
annual wage of $3404.00 for FY25. Requested start date is June
1, 2025

The Town of Wendell seeks a qualified and detail-oriented Alternate Building Inspector to support the primary Building Inspector in enforcing local, state, and federal building codes. Reporting to the Selectboard, this role involves conducting inspections for new construction, renovations, and repairs to ensure compliance with structural, safety, and energy efficiency standards. The Alternate Building Inspector will review building plans, issue permits, and document inspection results, contributing to the integrity of the town’s development and zoning practices.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of Massachusetts Building Code, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to community safety. They must possess excellent communication skills to work effectively with contractors, property owners, and town officials, resolving any code-related inquiries or issues. A certification or license in building inspection is preferred. This role is on-call and provides coverage for the primary inspector.

The Wendell Selectboard is seeking a part-time custodian for the Council on Aging and the Town Hall. Pay is $18.47 per hour, for 2-3 hours per week.
